Christmas Stocking Fillers' Series #2 - Large Covered Notebook with Calendar using In-Colours 2016-2018

Hello everyone, thank you for popping by today!  It really means a lot to me to have you here.

Well a few days ago I published a post relating to a small covered notepad with a little 2017 calendar and envelope inside.  It was such a hit, I was asked by a few of you to make another one, but in a larger version, so here is today's project.  I hope you like it as much as the diddy one :)

In-Colour 2016-2018 DSP Handmade For You

Again, I used the In-Colours 2016-2018 Designer Series Paper and complimentary Cardstock.  Takes all the hard work out of colour co-ordinating :)  That's what I love most about Stampin' Up!  With everything you need to create a beautiful project from ribbon, baker's twine, cardstock, designer series papers and ink.....  you don't really have to think to hard about it....  just choose a colour you love and away you go!

As you can see, the front cover panels are more even in size with only a little overlap (just enough to allow you do position the magnets properly).  I've added a little 2017 Calendar (which I purchased on EBay - the link is HERE), and this time made a little pouch which can be pulled out.  You could keep your bus/train ticket in there, or even stamps :)

Here's a closer look at the little pouch (with the diagonal designer series paper).  I cut a piece out of the top of it with a 1" circle punch half way along, just so that it's a little easier to pull things in and out.

The cover is again held together with a small magnet on each side of the covers (link to purchase magnets).  Place a magnet on the left cover (before adding your Designer Series Paper mat so that it's hidden).

When layering the closure, place the other magnet on top of the white circle and let it "naturally" find the magnet below.  Then glue half of the white circle down to the front cover sheet and add the smaller circle mats in place (which in turn hides the magnets).

End result :)

MEASUREMENTS & DIRECTIONS

  • For this project I used a memo Pad measuring 5" x 7 1/2"
  • Cut a piece of cardstock measuring 12" x 7.5";
  • Score with the long side at the top at 3 1/2", 4", 9" and 9 1/2"
  • Fold and burnish each score line with a bonefolder so that it is crisp;
  • Cut 2 mats in whisper white measuring 7 2/8" x 2 7/8"
  • Cut 2 mats in DSP (Designer Series Paper) measuring 6 3/4" x 2 3/4";
  • Layer outside and inside covers of the notebook and adhere the memo pad firmly in place;
  • Cut 3 circles.  The largest white circle measures 2 3/4"; the scalloped circle measures 2.5" and the smaller white circle measures 1.5".

AND THAT'S IT!
